  • He scored a goal in stoppage time and converted his penalty.
  • This may have been his last match in the tournament.

Luis Suárez entered at halftime in the Canada-Uruguay match and was decisive: he scored the equalizing goal (2-2) in stoppage time and then converted his penalty in the shootout. He was named the Superior Player of the Match Michelob ULTRA.

The hero's moment came at the 92nd minute, following a good play by Jose María Giménez on the right and a cross that Suárez struck with his left foot into the Canadian goal to equalize.

In the penalty shootout, Lucho took the fourth shot and scored to make it 4-2. Then Davies missed, sealing the result.
