Venezuela cruise to big win over Bolivia in Group B
  • Oriana Altuve scored a hat-trick.
  • It was Venezuela's first win in this edition.

With a commanding performance, Venezuela defeated Bolivia 7–1 to claim their first win in this CONMEBOL Copa América Femenina 2025™. The result puts La Vinotinto on 4 points in Group B, temporarily taking second place until the Colombia vs Paraguay match later on Saturday, the 19th.

The first 45 minutes were played at a high tempo at the Gonzalo Pozo Ripalda stadium. Venezuela pressed and circulated the ball in attack, while Bolivia focused on defending and countering. La Vinotinto opened the scoring with Oriana Altuve in the 13th minute, finishing a great move involving Deyna Castellanos and Gaby García. La Verde equalized soon after through Emilie Doerksen, who capitalized on a rebound after Méndez hit the crossbar.

Venezuela's creativity continued to shine. Deyna crossed from the right and found Gaby García, who headed home in the 24th minute. Minutes later, Carrasco delivered a corner that Joemar Guarecuco nodded in to make it 3–1.

Before halftime, Castellanos set up another chance, but Altuve couldn't convert with the header.

The second half was all Venezuela, who added four more goals: first, substitute Melanie Chirinos headed in a Carrasco free-kick in the 48th minute. Ten minutes later, Chirinos assisted Altuve, who beat Jodi Medina to score. Altuve then completed her hat-trick by finishing another cross.

In the 69th minute, Raiderlin Carrasco scored the final goal from a corner. The score remained unchanged until the final whistle.

Still on zero points, Bolivia will face Colombia on Tuesday, the 22nd. Venezuela will now rest until Friday, the 25th, when they take on Paraguay.
