Argentina and Uruguay draw in a thrilling classic
  • Both teams have 4 points, two behind leaders Peru.
  • Captains Bolo and Salgues scored the goals.

Argentina and Uruguay wrapped up Matchday 3 of the CONMEBOL Copa América Futsal 2026™ with a draw that keeps both sides firmly in contention heading into the final two rounds.

The first half was highly physical, with both teams reaching five fouls and goals coming early and late. Uruguay struck first through their captain: Salgues pounced on a rebound after a shot from his own goalkeeper to make it 1-0 in the 3rd minute.

Argentina responded through their captain as well. Bolo won the ball back and sparked a fine team move by La Albiceleste, which ended with the No. 4 himself tapping the ball into the net.

The second half continued to reflect the intensity of a Río de la Plata classic and, despite several clear chances, the match finished in a 1-1 draw.

Both teams have already had their bye, sit on 4 points and will approach the final two matchdays dreaming of a place among the tournament’s top four. Argentina will face Ecuador on Wednesday, while Uruguay will take on Paraguay the same day.
